This policy covers geniustrade.com and the GeniusTrade AI connector (MCP server mcp.geniustrade.com), usable from ChatGPT and Claude.

Connector Calculation Tools

Data entered in the quote comparison and landed cost calculation tools (prices, quantities, freight, fees) is processed in memory to generate the response, then discarded. It is neither stored nor shared. Exchange rates used are those from the GeniusTrade rate table.

Account Requests

The account request tool transmits to GeniusTrade: email, name, company, country, import volume range, team size, and if provided, sector, current tool, and message. This data is used solely to contact you and prepare your onboarding call. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.

It is transmitted by email via the Novu notification service (EU region, eu.api.novu.co), then retained in GeniusTrade's mailbox (Infomaniak, Switzerland) for up to 12 months if it does not result in an account. If the request results in an account, this data is kept for the duration of the customer relationship. In case of sending failure, the request is recorded in the technical logs of the server, hosted by OVHcloud in France, and deleted with their rotation (30 days).

Technical Data

The connector's server (mcp.geniustrade.com, OVHcloud, France) retains technical logs for 30 days, with automatic rotation thereafter. At the hosting edge, access logs record the IP address and request metadata (timestamp, path, response code) for the same 30-day period.

Connected Accounts (Customer AI Connector)

When you connect your GeniusTrade account to ChatGPT or Claude, you authorize that assistant to read and modify the data of your GeniusTrade account (tenant), through an OAuth 2.1 connection you approve on a GeniusTrade consent screen. The assistant never receives your password: authentication uses a one-hour access token and a 30-day refresh token. You can revoke a connection at any time from Settings > AI connections: the assistant can then no longer obtain a new token, and the access token already issued expires within the hour.

GeniusTrade logs each tool call (which tool, your account, duration, and outcome) for 30 days for reliability and abuse monitoring. The content of what you ask the assistant to read or write is not logged by GeniusTrade; it is not currently possible to preview or filter which of your account's data the assistant can access — it is your account's own, tenant-scoped data. Exception: when you ask the assistant to import a supplier quotation from an email, that email's text is analysed by the AI service GeniusTrade uses (OpenAI) and kept in your account with the import it produced, including after you confirm it. The data the assistant reads or writes passes through the assistant provider's service (OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude), which processes it under its own terms and privacy policy.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction, or deletion of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to [email protected]. You may also contact the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.

Cookies

The site measures its audience with Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Measurement starts only if you click "Accept": the legal basis is your consent. It tells us which pages are read and helps us improve the site.

Neither the site nor the connector places advertising cookies or personalises advertising.

Your browser keeps your choice for 6 months. You can change it at any time with the "Cookies" link in the footer of every page. Google LLC acts as processor; the data may be transferred outside the EU under Google's standard contractual clauses. Analytics cookies last up to 13 months.
